This frontline role requires a calm, organised approach and strong customer service in a clinical setting. Key responsibilities include welcoming patients, liaising with medical staff, and ensuring accurate patient flow information.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a front facing receptionist or customer service role.
  • Administrative experience, ideally in a health care setting.
  • Intermediate level computer skills with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously while being a supportive team member.
  • Calm under pressure with strong time management and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Welcoming patients and visitors.
  • Answering phone calls and responding to enquiries.

About the Role

We have an opportunity for a confident Receptionist to join our busy Inpatient Receptionist team at Waikato Hospital, located at 183 Pembroke Street in Hamilton.This is a frontline Ward Receptionist position where your core function will be receptionist, providing customer service and administrative support. Please note hours of work are 7am to 3.30pm and the successful candidate will need to be available to work these hours.You will be working in a busy fast paced environment where a calm, methodical approach will be key, along with effective organisational skills and a passion for helping people.Key responsibilities:welcoming patients and visitorsanswering phone calls and responding to enquiriesliaising with medical staffcapturing patient flow informationassisting patients with completing necessary forms and documentationmaintaining a clean and calm receptionist areaordering office supplies for the WardClick here to view the position description.

The Inpatient Receptionist is committed to front desk operations in the ward, and is responsible for greeting, admitting, discharging, and transfer of patients staying within the ward, and managing patient records. They ensure the smooth running of the reception area and provide essential support to healthcare staff. Our success is driven by the level of care and service provided to patients and their whanau.
