Job summary

Engender Technologies Limited is seeking a graduate mechanical engineer to join a small, experienced team building precision hardware for AgTech. You’ll work hands-on in QC, build and machining, and learn CNC machining directly from our Principal Machinist with real parts.

You’ll also prototype, test and improve methods used daily. You don’t need to be a machinist, but you should be practical, curious and eager to learn in a workshop environment with safety in mind.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Product Design Engineering or similar.
• Hands-on project/workshop experience through internships, projects or lab work.
• Comfortable in a workshop environment and safe handling of chemicals.
• Some exposure to 3D CAD and technical drawings.
• A methodical approach to testing: form hypotheses, control variables and record results.
• Genuine enthusiasm to learn machining and get hands dirty.

Responsibilities

• Run QC inspection and verification of components and assemblies.
• Build and assemble products from drawings and work instructions.
• Operate CNC and manual machining with mentoring to improve processes.
• Design and prototype mechanical components in 3D CAD and fabricate prototypes, jigs and fixtures.
• Plan and run structured experiments to solve practical problems and optimise processes with clear data and records.
• Help move designs from R&D into repeatable manufacture with build instructions and documentation.
• Collaborate with biologists, quality and engineering to meet functional and quality needs.
