Job summary

Fabrum, headquartered in Christchurch, seeks an experienced CNC Machinist to cover milling and turning for cryogenic technology components. You will set up, prove out, and optimise CNC programs, produce high-quality parts, and inspect first-offs to ensure tight tolerances.

You’ll contribute to continuous improvement and may work at multiple Christchurch sites as needed. The role requires a minimum of five years’ CNC machining experience, a relevant trade qualification, and experience with

Qualifications

• Minimum five years' CNC machining experience producing precision components to close tolerances.
• Trade qualification preferred; extensive industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
• Proven ability to set up, prove out, and optimise CNC programs for first-off and batch production.
• Experience operating multi-axis milling machines and lathes.
• CAD/CAM and online programming knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality components for advanced cryogenic technology solutions.
• Manufacture Fabrum products and external contract components with consistent quality.
• Complete first-off and sample inspections, verifying dimensions and settings.
• Assist in CNC programming and machining strategies for new components.
• Contribute to continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and performance.
• Undertake machining across multiple Christchurch sites when required.
