Queen's Rooftop & Wineshop in Auckland CBD is seeking an enthusiastic Host/Waiter to join our team in a full-time capacity. You will be the cornerstone of guest experience, coordinating front-of-house and delivering attentive table service in our rooftop venue.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year hosting experience or familiarity with Sevenrooms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of food service, dining etiquette, and beverage service standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of wines or willingness to develop.
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible with late nights and weekends.
• Based in Auckland, NZ with a valid working visa.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and professional Host/Waiter to join our team at Queens Rooftop & Wineshop, located in the heart of Auckland CBD. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to deliver exceptional hospitality in one of Auckland's premier dining destinations. As Host/Waitstaff, you will be the cornerstone of our guests' experience, combining front-of-house coordination with attentive table service to create memorable moments in our rooftop venue.

What you'll be doing

• Taking accurate food and beverage orders, with particular expertise in wine pairings and recommendations
• Serving guests with attentiveness and professionalism, anticipating needs before they are expressed
• Clearing tables promptly and maintaining impeccable standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the dining area
• Processing payments and managing the till with accuracy and integrity
• Collaborating with kitchen and bar staff to ensure seamless service delivery
• Providing knowledgeable guidance on menu items, wine selections, and dietary requirements
• Managing reservations and guest inquiries with courtesy and efficiency
• Maintaining compliance with health and safety standards and venue policies

What we're looking for

• At least 1 year hosting experience or familiar, bonus points if you are familiar with Sevenrooms
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage guests genuinely and professionally
• Strong knowledge of food service practices, dining etiquette, and beverage service standards
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and attention to detail
• Basic knowledge of wines or demonstrated willingness to develop expertise in wine service and recommendations
• Reliable and punctual with a flexible approach to scheduling, including potential late nights and weekend shifts & public holidays
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods, carry trays, and navigate the venue safely
• Positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences
• You are based in Auckland, New Zealand and have a valid working visa (unfortunately we won't be able to accommodate any sponsorships at this stage)
