Job summary

Ste Stevenson Aggregates operates primarily in quarry production near Tauhei. The role involves hands‑on work with plant, loading equipment, and basic maintenance to keep the site running smoothly while prioritising safety and efficiency.

You’ll work with a close team, adapting to daily production needs, and contributing to a safe work environment with strong communication and reliability.

Qualifications

• Valid Full Class 2 licence is required.
• WTR certification is essential.
• A safety‑first approach with a proven safety record.
• Passion for quarrying and willingness to develop new skills.
• Positive attitude toward machinery care and maintenance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate quarry plant and equipment (crushing plant and mobile machinery) to meet daily production needs.
• Perform daily pre‑starts, calibration checks, and basic plant maintenance to keep equipment ready for work.
• Maintain stockpiles, plant areas and workspaces in a clean, tidy, and safe condition.
• Follow site procedures, identify hazards, and support safety, environmental and quality expectations.
• Collaborate with the team to deliver good service, respond to customer needs, and keep work moving.

About the role

This is a hands‑on role for someone who’s comfortable around plant, production, and outdoor work. You will be part of the Tauhei Quarry team, operating equipment and supporting day‑to‑day quarry activities. We’re after someone who can work safely, think on their feet, and take real ownership of their plant and work area.

About you

You will work closely with your teammates, backing each other to deliver safe, efficient production. One day you might be on the loader or dump truck, the next you’re doing basic plant maintenance, cleaning down the plant, or jumping in where the team needs you. When things get busy, you will stay calm, think ahead and help keep everything moving

We are looking for someone with:

• A Full Class 2 licence is compulsory

• WTR is a must

• An unwavering commitment towards living safely with a safety record to match

• Passion for the quarrying industry and willingness to learn and develop new skills

• Good attitude toward the care and maintenance of machinery

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
