Job summary

Fulton Hogan is recruiting for a hands-on quarry role in Timaru. You will operate plant and equipment, perform routine maintenance, monitor safety, and work with the team to keep production on track and the site well organised.

We value a reliable, safety-focused candidate with experience in quarrying or similar environments and a Class 4 licence with WTR endorsements. A strong mechanical aptitude and team spirit are essential.

Qualifications

• Full Class 4 and WTR endorsements are required.
• Experience in quarrying or similar hands-on environments.
• Experience operating loaders, mobile screening equipment, excavators, dump trucks or similar plant.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine checks and basic maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate quarry plant and mobile equipment safely to support daily production.
• Carry out routine maintenance, inspections and basic servicing of plant and equipment.
• Monitor site conditions and support safe, compliant quarry operations at all times.
• Work closely with the wider team to keep production on track and the site running smoothly.
• Help maintain a clean, tidy, and well-organised worksite.
• Support stockpile management and quarry development activities across the site.
• Assist with quality assurance testing of aggregates.
• Identify and report hazards, faults, or maintenance issues promptly.

This is a hands‑on role where you'll support the day‑to‑day running of the quarry, help keep plant and equipment in good shape, and play a big part in keeping the site safe, productive, and well organized.

• B grade quarry managers COC (or working towards) would be advantageous.
