Job summary

Patties Foods Auckland manufacturing site is seeking a dedicated Quality Officer to protect product quality, safety and brand reputation. This hands-on role collaborates with Production, Engineering and Cleaning to uphold high food safety standards.

Responsibilities include pre-operational checks, CCP/QCP verification, product releases, and coordinating testing and audits. The candidate should have 2+ years QA/QC in food manufacturing and strong HACCP knowledge.

Qualifications

• At least two years of QA or QC experience in food manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP and food safety systems.
• Ability to make risk-based decisions and escalate concerns when needed.
• Excellent investigation, communication and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work independently and with teams.
• Food science qualification is desirable; HACCP/internal-auditor training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out pre-operational inspections, GMP audits and line checks.
• Verify CCPs, QCPs, X-ray and metal-detector performance and other controls.
• Manage product holds, deviations and releases.
• Coordinate environmental and product testing (ATP, APC, Listeria).
• Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints using root-cause analysis.
• Conduct internal audits and support customer/certification audits.
• Verify supplier, raw-material, specification and label compliance.
• Coach teams and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.

Quality Officer - Food Manufacturing

Auckland | Day shift: 6.00 am - 3.00 pm

Patties Foods is home to some of Australia and New Zealand’s most recognised frozen food brands. We are looking for an experienced Quality Officer to help protect our products, customers and reputation at our Auckland, New Zealand manufacturing site. This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with Production, Engineering, Cleaning and other teams to maintain high food safety and quality standards.

What you’ll do

• Complete pre-operational inspections, GMP audits and production-line checks.
• Verify CCPs, QCPs, X-ray and metal-detector performance and other process controls.
• Manage product holds, deviations and authorised product releases.
• Coordinate environmental and product testing, including ATP, APC and Listeria monitoring.
• Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints using root-cause analysis.
• Conduct internal audits and support customer and certification audits.
• Verify supplier, raw-material, specification and label compliance.
• Coach operational teams and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.

What you’ll bring

• Ideally, at least two years’ QA or QC experience in food manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP and food safety systems.
• Confidence to make risk-based decisions and elevate concerns.
• Excellent investigation, communication and attention-to-detail skills.
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• A food science, microbiology or related qualification is desirable.
• HACCP and internal-auditor training are preferred.

You must be available to work 6.00 am-3.00 pm, complete pre-operational checks and work approximately one Saturday per month.
