Quality Facilitator | Full-time | Permanent Are you passionate about strengthening quality, improving systems, and achieving better outcomes for patients and whānau? The Quality Assurance Team is seeking an enthusiastic and quality‑focused individual to join us as a Quality Facilitator. In this role, you will help turn insights into action, identify opportunities for improvement, and support meaningful change across healthcare services. About the Role

"This role will suit someone who is energised by quality improvement and motivated by purpose. As a Quality Facilitator, you will partner with clinical and operational teams across Health New Zealand, Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua | MidCentral to improve the quality, safety, and effectiveness of care. You will support learning from incidents and reviews, identify opportunities for improvement, and use data and evidence to inform decision‑making. This is a varied and influential role that combines relationship management, problem‑solving, and quality improvement. You will support teams to achieve better outcomes for patients, whānau, and staff."\

About the Team

The Quality Assurance team provides expertise in quality improvement, patient safety, clinical effectiveness, audit, incident management, adverse event review, information management, and document governance. We value collaboration, continuous improvement, and shared learning, while providing team members with the autonomy to lead their work and make a meaningful contribution. Working alongside Consumer Experience and Risk Management, we support a culture of quality, learning, and excellence across our organisation.

About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about improving outcomes and enabling others to succeed. You are comfortable working in complex environments, building strong relationships, navigating ambiguity, and helping teams identify and implement improvements. Most importantly, you believe that quality and patient safety are everyone's responsibility.

In this role, you will:
  • Support clinical teams to deliver safe, higher‑quality care.
  • Partner with leaders and frontline staff to identify and implement improvements.
  • Use information, evidence, and data to support decision‑making.
  • Facilitate learning from incidents, reviews, and improvement activities.
  • Contribute to a culture of curiosity and learning.
  • Lead or support projects that improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
  • Influence change across a complex healthcare environment.
Key skills and experience:
  • Passion for quality improvement and achieving better outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Well organised and pays attention to detail.
  • Ability to turn data insights and recommendations into practical action plans.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Confidence engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leaders.
  • Ability to facilitate and support change collaboratively.
  • A clinical or healthcare background is advantageous but not essential.
