Job summary

Geckos Early Learning Centre is seeking qualified ECE teachers to join our casual reliever pool across three nearby centres in Whangārei. These roles cover annual leave, sickness and other staffing needs, with shifts offered as available.

You will hold a recognised ECE teaching qualification and a current NZ practising certificate, be warm and reliable, adaptable to different teams and age groups, and collaborate closely with kaiako to support tamariki wellbeing and learning in Te

Looking for casual teaching opportunities in a small, welcoming early learning environment?

We are growing our reliever pool across Hātea Early Learning Centre, Geckos Childcare and Little Geckos. Our centres are close to one another in Whangārei, offering opportunities to work alongside our established teaching teams with different age groups.

We are mainly seeking qualified ECE teachers to provide cover for annual leave, sickness and other staffing needs. Whether you are looking for occasional days or would like to be considered for more frequent relieving opportunities, we would love to hear from you.

About the role

As a casual reliever, you will:

• help create a safe, welcoming environment where tamariki feel secure and included
• support children’s play and learning through meaningful interactions and intentional teaching
• work alongside our kaiako to maintain familiar routines and continuity of care
• build positive relationships with tamariki, whānau and colleagues
• follow centre policies and contribute to the smooth running of the day.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

• holds a recognised ECE teaching qualification and a current New Zealand practising certificate
• is warm, reliable and comfortable adapting to different teams and age groups
• shows initiative and enjoys being actively involved with tamariki
• has a sound understanding of Te Whāriki and values children’s individual interests, cultures and learning
• communicates well and works collaboratively with others.
