Job summary

Educare is seeking unregistered reliever teachers to join our Christchurch region teams at Educare Wigram, Educare Kaiapoi and Educare Lincoln Village. This casual reliever role provides cover for permanent staff during sick leave, annual leave and other absences with no guaranteed hours.

You’ll have broad availability, travel between centres, and the chance to experience teaching across multiple age groups while gaining valuable ECE experience in a supportive, values-driven setting.

Qualifications

• Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
• Willingness to complete Police Vetting and Safety Checks.
• Flexibility to travel within the Christchurch region.

Responsibilities

• Support high-quality, play-based learning aligned with Te Whāriki.
• Build positive relationships with tamariki and whānau.
• Assist with daily routines, care moments and learning experiences across centres.

We have three centres across the Christchurch region: Educare Wigram, Educare Kaiapoi and Educare Lincoln Village.

About the Role

We are looking for relievers with broad availability, ideally:

• Available for full-day shifts
• Available Monday to Friday
• Able to travel across our centres in Wigram, Kaiapoi and Lincoln

This is a casual reliever position that provides cover for permanent staff during sick leave, annual leave, and other absences.

• No guaranteed or set hours
• No obligation to accept shifts that don’t suit you
• Opportunities to work across multiple centres and age groups

This role is ideal if you enjoy variety, flexibility, and working with different teams and environments. This is also a great opportunity to gain quality ECE experience.
