Job summary

Kindercare Learning Centres is seeking an on-call relieving assistant for our Wellington Karori Centre. You will support kaiako by assisting with daily routines, play, and learning experiences, while helping to keep the environment clean and safe for babies, toddlers and preschoolers.

We value a peaceful, playful nature, warm communication in English, and the ability to work with short notice. NZ residency or NZ work visa is required and all staff undergo police vet checks.

Qualifications

• English communication with children and families.
• Reliability and flexibility to cover shifts.
• Experience with children under 5 is preferred or studied.

Responsibilities

• Assist Teachers with daily routines and activities.
• Engage with children in play and learning experiences.
• Maintain a clean and safe learning environment; help with cleaning duties.
• Support whānau relationships and positive behaviour strategies.

This role involves assisting Teachers with daily routines, engaging with children in play and learning experiences, and helping to maintain a clean and safe environment. Cleaning duties are part of the role, and applicants should be physically active and comfortable working in a busy early childhood setting.

About You:

• Reliable and available, often at short notice
• Experience with children under 5 (preferred)
• Able to work up to 8 hours a day, and during school holidays
• Committed to building strong relationships with children and whānau
• Enthusiastic about creating fun-filled days for tamariki
• Warm, caring nature
• Confident communicator in English
• NZ residency or NZ work visa is a pre-requisite
• All potential employees are police vet checked
