Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Public Affairs Officer for our client in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will develop public affairs strategies, monitor regulatory developments, and manage relationships with government officials and communities to support the company's social license to operate.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Communications, or related field, at least four years' experience, and strong policy analysis, communication, and negotiation

Qualifications

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Experience in policy analysis and advocacy.
Sound judgement and ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement public affairs strategies to support company objectives.
Monitor government policies, regulations, and legislative developments relevant to the industry.
Build and maintain relationships with government officials, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
Prepare position papers and policy briefs for various audiences.
Represent the company at public consultations and industry forums.
Advise senior management on public affairs issues and risks.
Manage public perception and address community concerns.
Support CSR initiatives and stakeholder engagement events.
Track and report on public affairs activities and impact.
