Job summary

ABB in Napier, New Zealand, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to support engineering changes and production readiness for active products. You will collaborate with R&D, Agile, Quality, Process and SCM teams to translate developments into manufacturable designs and ready mass production.

Onsite in Napier, you will maintain assembly and packaging instructions, develop 3D models and BOMs, and contribute to project specs for production. A degree in electrical engineering and CAD skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D modelling software.
• Strong 2D drafting skills (AutoCAD) and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across multiple departments.
• Nice-to-have: SAP experience or power electronics background.

Responsibilities

• Developing and managing engineering changes in active products
• Managing technical documents for production including 3D models, schematics, bills of materials (BOM), and assembly procedures
• Establishing project specifications for production
• Converting R&D developments into products for market and readying these for mass production
• Problem solving analysis and investigation together with Quality and Process teams
• Supporting production lines
• Maintaining assembly instructions
• Maintaining packaging instructions
