Job summary

Fluid Recruitment is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer progressing to a Project Quality Manager on a major civil infrastructure project in Canterbury. This hands-on, on-site role will allow you to influence quality outcomes from planning through to completion within a well-established civil contractor's project team.

You'll lead quality activities on site, collaborating with engineers, subcontractors and the client, maintain project quality systems, and drive practical solutions to issues

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quality Engineer or Senior Quality Engineer within civil construction or infrastructure.

• Inspections, testing, ITPs, audits and work pack reviews
• Supporting engineers, site teams and subcontractors to meet quality requirements
• Managing non-conformances and corrective actions
• Maintaining quality documentation and supporting project handover
• Working with the wider project team and client to identify issues and drive practical solutions

This is a great opportunity to take your quality experience into a senior project role with a well-established civil contractor. You'll be part of a high-performing project team delivering significant infrastructure works across Canterbury, with the opportunity to influence quality outcomes from planning and delivery through to completion. This is a hands-on role rather than a traditional management position.

You'll be involved in:

• Developing and maintaining project quality systems and processes
• Inspections, testing, ITPs, audits and work pack reviews
• Supporting engineers, site teams and subcontractors to meet quality requirements
• Managing non-conformances and corrective actions
• Maintaining quality documentation and supporting project handover
• Working with the wider project team and client to identify issues and drive practical solutions

What you'll need:

• Experience as a Quality Engineer or Senior Quality Engineer within civil construction or infrastructure
• Civil Engineering, quality management or relevant qualification
• Strong experience with ITPs, inspections, testing, audits and NCRs
• Understanding of NZTA and large-scale infrastructure quality requirements
• A practical, proactive approach and confidence working on site
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across project teams
• Experience with quality or document management systems such as Procore would be beneficial
