Job summary

Transpower New Zealand Limited in Wellington is seeking a proactive Project/Programme Coordinator to provide end-to-end project support for Grid Delivery. You will coordinate activities, manage information accurately, and build strong relationships with stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Experience in, or a strong interest in, project or programme coordination.
  • Sound financial acumen and familiarity with financial management systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and exceptions.
  • Advanced capability across Microsoft Office and Office 365, including Excel; Microsoft Project is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational, coordination and administrative skills to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as the key point of contact for project support and information, coordinating activities and administration across the project lifecycle
  • Coordinating and supporting financial management, including forecasting, invoicing, accruals and variance reporting, while working closely with Project Managers and our finance team
  • Monitoring and analysing reports and performance metrics to support effective project management
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and identifying opportunities for greater efficiency

About the team

Grid Delivery oversees all work on the national grid, including capital project and maintenance activities delivered with our service provider organisations. We manage approximately $700Min capital and $150M in maintenance expenditure annually, with significant growth forecast.

OurnationalProject Support team plays a critical role in enabling this work, providing project support and performance services to over 70 Project Managersand Programme Managers,delivering grid capital investigation and build projects.

  • Strong organisational, coordination and administrative skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and keep projects running smoothly
While not essential, please let us know if you have:
  • Experience documenting business processes,proceduresor training materials
  • Interest in AI‑enabled tools (such as Microsoft Copilot) and a desire to build your capability in this area to support continuous improvement
