Job summary

Downer Hamilton is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the electricity team, delivering projects across the Waikato. You will manage projects from planning through to completion, ensuring safety, on‑time delivery and alignment with budget and specifications.

You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, contractors and delivery partners, monitor performance, report accurately and foster trusted relationships with stakeholders including local authorities.

Qualifications

• We require proven project management experience in electricity, utilities or infrastructure.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and cost-control capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead electricity projects from planning and design through to construction and completion.
• Coordinate people, contractors and resources to meet project plans and customer commitments.
• Manage project budgets, expenditure, revenue, forecasting and timely invoicing.
• Build strong relationships with delivery teams, consultants and local authorities.
• Monitor project performance, resolve delivery risks and provide accurate reporting.
• Champion Zero Harm and ensure work meets contract, quality, regulatory and network standards.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our Hamilton electricity team, supporting the delivery of projects across the Waikato.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our Hamilton electricity team, supporting the delivery of projects across the Waikato. You'll manage assigned projects from planning through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, to specification, on time and within budget. You'll coordinate resources, manage commercial performance and build trusted relationships with key delivery partners.

You'll enjoy:

• Leading electricity projects from planning and design through to construction and completion
• Coordinating people, contractors and resources to meet project plans and customer commitments
• Managing project budgets, expenditure, revenue, forecasting and timely invoicing
• Building strong relationships with delivery teams, consultants and local authorities
• Monitoring project performance, resolving delivery risks and providing accurate reporting
• Championing Zero Harm and ensuring work meets contract, quality, regulatory and network standards.

We're looking for a commercially focused Project Manager who delivers results, builds trusted relationships and maintains high standards of safety and quality.

You will bring:

• Proven project management experience, ideally within electricity, utilities or infrastructure
• Practical knowledge of engineering design, construction and network operating standards
• Strong commercial acumen, including project budgeting, forecasting and cost control
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, contractors and delivery partners
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including experience with MS Project
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, organisation and time-management skills
