Job summary

Turbo Staff is assisting a well‑established civil infrastructure contractor to appoint an experienced Project Manager to deliver 3 Waters projects across Auckland. You will lead technical water infrastructure from planning through to completion, with hands‑on leadership and strong commercial sense.

Responsibilities include managing schedules, budgets, and resources; coordinating with councils, designers and subcontractors; and ensuring health, safety and quality on site.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in civil infrastructure delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of water, wastewater, and stormwater construction.
  • Experience with local councils and water authorities in New Zealand.
  • Solid understanding of NZ construction contracts and delivery models.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • End-to-end management of 3 Waters projects across Auckland.
  • Planning, programming, and resourcing works to meet milestones.
  • Managing project budgets, cash flow, forecasting, and cost-to-complete.
  • Leading site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to delivery goals.
  • Managing contractual obligations, variations, and risk mitigation.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Coordinating with designers, councils, and utility providers.
  • Providing accurate reporting on programme, cost, risk, and performance.
  • Driving a strong safety culture and leading by example on site.

Job description

Our client is an established and growing civil infrastructure contractor who are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee and deliver 3 Waters projects across Auckland.

The Role

With a strong forward workload and long-term programme of works, this role offers the opportunity to lead technically complex water infrastructure projects from planning through to completion.

This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring strong technical capability, commercial acumen, and the ability to build effective relationships with clients, councils, subcontractors, and internal delivery teams.

  • Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources, materials, and labour
  • End-to-end management of 3 Waters projects across Auckland
  • Planning, programming, and resourcing works to meet contractual milestones
  • Managing project budgets, cash flow, forecasting, and cost-to-complete
  • Leading site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve delivery outcomes
  • Managing contractual obligations, variations, and risk mitigation
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements
  • Coordinating with designers, councils, and utility providers
  • Providing accurate reporting on programme, cost, risk, and performance
  • Driving a strong safety culture and leading by example on site
Skills And Experience
