Job summary

Beca in Timaru seeks an experienced Project Engineer to join the Industrial team, managing sustaining capital and improvement projects across food & beverage, manufacturing, and heavy industry. You will interact with clients, take ownership, and deliver projects from concept to completion on site.

You will have a tertiary engineering qualification and 10+ years in industrial environments, with strong problem-solving and relationship-building abilities to drive value for the region.

Qualifications

• Must have strong client-facing and problem-solving skills.
• Experience delivering industrial brownfield or operational projects is ideal.
• Ability to work autonomously with site-based teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver sustaining capital projects such as equipment replacements and safety upgrades.
• Support major capital projects as they arise.

You'll play a key role delivering sustaining capital and improvement projects across sectors such as food and beverage, manufacturing, and heavy industry.

What you'll be doing

• Delivering sustaining capital projects such as equipment replacements, safety upgrades, reliability improvements and compliance works
• Supporting major capital projects as they arise
• Managing projects end to end, from scope and planning through to delivery - working alongside client teams with support from Beca's wider national capability
• Building strong, trusted client relationships through consistent, high-quality delivery
• Working confidently and independently in a site based delivery environment, partnering with operational teams and key stakeholders, drawing on national project support where needed
