Job summary

Higgins Bay of Plenty is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Mount Maunganui team in the Construction Division. You will work with Project Managers and site teams to deliver civil construction and roading projects safely, efficiently and to specification.

You will plan labour, plant and materials, manage programmes and costs, prepare tenders, and maintain project documentation from setup to close-out while collaborating with clients and contractors to ensure safety and quality.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification, professional accreditation, or equivalent practical experience.
• Civil engineering experience, ideally within roading, infrastructure or construction.
• Knowledge of New Zealand legislation, industry standards and project requirements.
• Experience developing project plans and coordinating people, resources and information.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships with clients, site teams and contractors.
• Strong attention to detail, confidence using Microsoft Office and a current full driver licence.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate labour, plant, materials, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Manage project activities against agreed programmes, estimates and specifications.
• Monitor project costs, complete financial reviews and identify potential issues early.
• Prepare tenders, quotes and estimates, and support negotiations for new work.
• Maintain project documentation from job set-up through to close-out.
• Work closely with site teams, clients and contractors to maintain safety, quality and delivery standards.
