Job summary

Higgins Bay of Plenty is seeking a Foreperson to join the Mount Maunganui team in the Maintenance Division. You’ll supervise road maintenance crews on-site, coordinating labour, plant, and subcontractors to deliver programs safely and to standard.

You’ll conduct pre-starts, toolbox talks, and ensure QA compliance, including ITPs and hold points. This role offers a permanent 40-hour week and KiwiSaver contributions, plus discounts and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years’ road construction experience with supervisory duties.
• WTR and Class 1-4 licences.
• Solid knowledge of road maintenance, QA, health and safety and environmental requirements.
• Experience using RAMM/AWM.
• Strong planning, organisation and record-keeping skills.

• Lead cyclic and heavy maintenance crews on site and allocate daily tasks.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to keep work on track.
• Run pre-starts and toolbox meetings and set clear daily expectations.

• Keep accurate records including timesheets, foreperson sheets, plant records and site documentation.
• Support incident response and after-hours or rostered duties when required.

Job description

We’re looking for a Foreperson to join our Higgins Bay of Plenty team, based in Mount Maunganui within our Maintenance Division.

As a Foreperson, you’ll work alongside the Supervisor to coordinate the day-to-day activities of our road maintenance crews and subcontractors, turning work programmes into well-organised jobs on the ground. You’ll be out on site with your crew, keeping work moving safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Running pre-starts and toolbox meetings and setting clear expectations for the day.
• Monitoring workmanship and completing site QA, including ITPs, hold points and checklists.
• Keeping accurate records including timesheets, foreperson sheets, plant records and site documentation.
• Supporting incident response and after-hours or rostered duties when required.

What you’ll have:

• At least 3 years’ road construction experience, including supervisory experience.
• Appropriate WTR and Class 1-4 licences.
• Good working knowledge of road maintenance, QA, health and safety and environmental requirements.
• Experience using RAMM/AWM, along with strong planning, organisation and record-keeping skills.
• Confident communication and people leadership skills
