Job summary

Higgins is seeking an experienced Construction Operations Manager to take ownership of day-to-day construction operations across all projects in the Manawatū region. You’ll coordinate plant and labour to keep work safe, well planned, productive and on budget, while working closely with supervisors and foremen.

Requirements include a relevant engineering/highway technology degree and at least 10 years of experience managing people, plant and resources.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in engineering or highway technology.
• At least 10 years' experience managing people, plant and operational resources.
• Strong construction industry knowledge and construction project management experience.
• Experience managing plant utilisation, maintenance requirements and costs.
• Strong planning skills across work programmes, budgets, resources and site activities.
• Clear communication skills and a practical approach to leading teams and solving problems.

Responsibilities

• Plan labour, plant, trucking, equipment and material requirements.
• Support Project Managers to ensure projects meet productivity and resource requirements.
• Monitor and report on plant and labour utilization across the Construction Division.
