Job summary

Placements24 client seeks a Project Engineer for a major chemical plant expansion in Queenstown. You will manage multi-discipline teams and drive delivery from planning through commissioning in a hybrid on-site/remote setting.

We require 8+ years in project engineering within the chemical sector, strong leadership, and exceptional stakeholder communication to keep projects safe, on time, and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of project engineering experience in chemical industry.
• Proven track record of managing complex capital projects.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
• Experience with plant design, construction and commissioning.
• Excellent leadership, communication and negotiation for hybrid stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and closure of chemical plant expansion projects.
• Develop project scope, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering disciplines, contractors, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
• Manage project risks, issues, and changes effectively.
• Oversee site construction activities and commissioning of new process units.
