Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Chemical Plant Engineer to oversee the operational integrity and efficiency of a Queenstown manufacturing facility. This hands-on role focuses on reliability, safety, and cost-effective performance, influencing maintenance strategies and improvement initiatives.
You will troubleshoot complex issues, manage equipment like pumps, reactors, and heat exchangers, and collaborate with the operations team to meet production targets while maintaining compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- 4+ years in chemical plant operations or maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of plant equipment (pumps, reactors, HX, controls).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities.
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize the performance of chemical processing equipment and plant systems.
- Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and process deviations, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations within the plant.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to improve overall plant efficiency and reliability.
- Review process data and operational logs to identify opportunities for optimization and cost savings.
