Job summary

New Zealand Oil Services Limited (NZOSL) is seeking a Project Engineer to manage the full lifecycle of engineering projects, from concept to commissioning. You will deliver upgrades and maintenance to bulk fuel storage tanks, pipelines, and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Based in Wellington, you will lead planning, budgeting, and contractor oversight while coordinating with HSSE requirements and asset management.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering (mechanical, civil, or related).
  • Proven experience managing engineering projects in oil & gas, energy, or infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with inspection, repair, and maintenance standards.
  • Strong contractor management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent budgeting, reporting, and risk management capabilities.
  • Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project planning, risk management, budgeting, and execution.
  • Manage contractors and service providers to deliver safe, compliant outcomes.
  • Oversee technical reviews including HAZOPs and HITRAs.
  • Ensure compliance with HSSE and other relevant standards.
  • Contribute to asset management planning and engineering documentation.
  • Conduct post-project reviews and drive continuous improvement.

About the Role
