Job summary

Waimakariri District Council in Rangiora is seeking a Project Engineer to join the Utilities Projects Team within the Project Delivery Unit. Based in Rangiora, you will lead delivery across civil, water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects.

You will manage projects from feasibility through to completion, work with staff, consultants, iwi and stakeholders, and ensure safety and environmental stewardship throughout the works.

Qualifications

• Qualified Civil or Natural Resources Engineer or equivalent.
• 3+ years delivering civil, water, wastewater, and/or stormwater projects.
• Strong technical, project management, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of NZS 3910 contract administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and support in delivering the Water Services and Stormwater Capital Works Program.
• Manage projects from investigation and design through procurement, construction and completion.
• Collaborate with Council staff, consultants, contractors, iwi and stakeholders to achieve outstanding outcomes.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and with environmental protections in mind.
• Contribute to infrastructure that improves community wellbeing for generations to come.
