Job summary

Verbrec in New Plymouth is seeking a Project Engineer to contribute to challenging brownfields and greenfield projects in energy, water and three waters sectors. You will help deliver sustainable infrastructure for communities, leveraging multidisciplinary engineering teams across oil & gas, water and renewables.

The role focuses on reporting, risk management, stakeholder coordination and disciplined project control, with opportunities to travel and support Australian team members.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree with mechanical, process or piping discipline is required.
  • 5-10 years of experience across multi-discipline teams.
  • Experience in planning, scheduling and monitoring projects.
  • Experience in engaging and supervising multi-discipline teams.
  • Experience in preparing tender documents and managing tender processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Draft fortnightly reporting for key stakeholders.
  • Assist in managing Variations, TQ, RFI and action registers; update risk matrix.
  • Monitor and report project progress against timelines and KPIs.
  • Identify and document risks; develop control strategies.
  • Coordinate interface between engineering team members, subcontractors and stakeholders.
  • Use scheduling/document management tools to track project performance.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities.
  • Assist with project control duties including evaluating scope changes for cost, safety, quality and schedule.

As aProject Engineer,you will beworking on a range of challenging and industry leading projects. Ideally,you will have experience in oil & gas, water or wastewater treatment, although experience across manufacturing, infrastructure, utilities orrenewablesis also highly valued.Candidates with experience in wastewater treatment plants, water infrastructure, treatment process systems, pumping stations, pipelines or related three waters projects are encouraged to apply

The role offers an opportunity to be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary engineering team, working with a diverse range of clients on brownfields projects and new builds. We are values driven team, looking for passionate and innovative people who continually deliver for each other and our clients.In this roleyou will:

  • Draft fortnightly reporting for key stakeholders.
  • Assist in the management of all Variation/TQ/RFI and action registers, control and update the risk matrix.
  • Monitor, control and report project progress against multiple project timelines, milestones and key performance indicators.
  • Identify and document potential risks and develop effective control strategies to minimise these.
  • Assist with the interface between engineering team members, sub-contractors and key stakeholders to provide solutions and support successful delivery of projects.
  • Use scheduling and document management tools to update, track and record project performance.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities.
  • Assist with general project control duties including the management of variations by analysing the implications of scope change on issues such as cost, safety, quality and schedule.

  • Engineering degree (with mechanical, process or pipingor related discipline) with 5-10 years’ experience

  • Experience in preparing tender documents and managing the tender process.

  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with project team and other key stakeholders.
