KING KONG ELECTRICAL LIMITED – Auckland, North Island is seeking a full-time Project Coordinator to assist the Director in coordinating electrician projects on site. You will oversee contractor activities, monitor progress against timelines and manage project documentation to ensure contractual compliance.

The role requires at least 1 year of relevant experience or a diploma in a related field, with long hours during peak seasons. Preference given to NZ residents/citizens.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and administer electrician projects on site, under the Director's guidance.

  • Monitor progress, ensure compliance with drawings, specs and timelines.
  • Maintain project documentation including variations, progress reports and payment verification.
  • Provide regular site updates and escalate contractor performance risks to management.

KING KONG ELECTRICAL LIMITED – Auckland, North Island

We want to hire 1 full-time Project Coordinator. You are expected to work between 30-50 hours per week( Monday-Saturday).

Work location: Aucklandarea

This role supports the director (registered electrician) in coordinating and administering electrician projects, with a primary focus on site-based contract implementation, contractor supervision and project program delivery. The role involves monitoring project progress, managing variations to subcontracted works, coordinating project resources and ensuring project activities are completed in accordance with contractual requirements, technical specifications and agreed timelines.

  • Assisting in the development, review and implementation of electricianprojects and coordinating sequencing of subcontracted activities to meet project timelines.
  • Liaising with subcontractors to clarify contractual scopes, coordinate work schedules and facilitate agreed variations to construction works and service delivery arrangements.
  • Monitoring progress of site activities and overseeing field work undertaken by contractors to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and contractual obligations.
  • Identifying and reporting variations to work orders, delays or performance issues and assisting management in implementing appropriate contractual or operational responses.
  • Responding to site-based operational inquiries and resolving coordination issues affecting contractors, internal worker, suppliers and clients.
  • Maintaining and managing project documentation associated with contract administration, including variation records, progress confirmations, inspection notes and supporting information for contractor payment verification.
  • Working collaboratively with the Director, contractors, clients and suppliers to ensure project objectives and performance targets are achieved.
  • Providing regular site progress updates and advising senior management on matters requiring attention, including contractor performance risks, scheduling constraints and resource requirements.
  • Collecting and reviewing project performance information, including task completion status, labour utilisation and sequencing effectiveness, and assisting in reporting on project outcomes and budget control.
  • Assisting in the preparation of project-related submissions, compliance documentation and reports required for council inspections or organisational monitoring purposes.
  • Coordinating allocation and scheduling of internal workers and subcontractors to ensure efficient utilisation of labour and minimise trade conflicts on site.
  • May conduct any other construction administration tasks required by the Director.

Job Requirements:

  • On-the-job training will be provided.
  • Applicants must have at least 1 year of relevant work experience (experience in electrician, administration, management, planning, construction or any tradesmanship will be considered relevant), OR
  • hold at least a diploma in a relevant field (such as Management, Accounting, Electrician or other related disciplines).
  • AND
  • Accepts long working hours in peak seasons. No criminal records
  • Priority will be given to NZ residents/ citizens.
