Beyond Recruitment – Wellington, North Island

We are seeking an experienced contractor to support the delivery of a high-profile transition programme focused on ensuring people are effectively supported through a period of industry change.

Working as part of a collaborative team, this role will help progress a range of initiatives designed to deliver practical support, wellbeing outcomes and future opportunities for industry participants. While positioned within a people and business support function, this is not a traditional HR role. Instead, it requires a capable advisor who can engage stakeholders, drive projects forward and deliver quality outcomes within tight timeframes.

  • 3-month contract
  • Flexible hours
  • Wellington-based hybrid working
Key responsibilities include:
  • Building a comprehensive picture of industry participants using multiple data sources, culminating in a report with recommendations for governance consideration.
  • Researching and scoping retraining and reskilling support options, including the development of proposals for decision-makers.
  • Designing and coordinating a calendar of wellbeing and practical support initiatives aligned to participant needs.
  • Bringing together KPI and reporting information from a range of providers and stakeholders to support oversight and decision-making.
  • Engaging with a diverse stakeholder group, including participants, carers, community organisations and government agencies.
About you

You will be a confident relationship-builder who combines empathy and emotional intelligence with strong project delivery capability. Comfortable working with sensitive issues and diverse stakeholder groups, you will be equally happy engaging with people on the ground as you are preparing reports and recommendations for senior leaders.

To be successful, you will bring:
  • Experience leading or coordinating programmes, projects or complex pieces of advisory work.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical, reporting and problem-solving capability.
  • The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes at pace.
  • Experience across government, not-for-profit, community services, workforce development or other people-focused environments will be highly regarded.
The opportunity
  • Approximately three months in duration.
  • Flexible arrangement with full-time or part-time hours considered.
  • Hybrid working environment with regular in-office collaboration.
  • Indicative contractor rate of around $120 per hour.

This role would suit an experienced contractor who enjoys meaningful work, thrives in a hands-on environment and is motivated by delivering practical outcomes that support people through change.
