Job summary

Tower in Auckland is seeking a Commercial SME Product Manager for a 12-month fixed-term to shape our SME insurance portfolio and deliver outstanding customer outcomes. You will partner with leaders across the business to translate customer insights, market opportunities and trends into innovative product solutions while balancing customer needs, risk appetite and commercial objectives.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years’ experience in general insurance, product management, underwriting, claims, legal, risk, compliance or a closely related discipline; Commercial insurance experience is preferable.
• Experience contributing to product reviews, governance activities, policy wording or customer document changes, and the delivery of product or process improvements.
• Strong commercial and analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret insurance policies, assess complex information, and make recommendations that balance customer and business outcomes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to explain complex concepts clearly and work effectively across the organisation.
• Highly organised and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities, drive initiatives forward, and work both independently and collaboratively to deliver results.

Responsibilities

• Design, launch, and evolve SME insurance products that deliver great customer experiences while supporting Tower's commercial objectives.
• Partner with leaders and stakeholders across the business to turn customer insights, market opportunities, and emerging trends into innovative product solutions.
• Balance customer needs, risk appetite, and business goals to ensure products remain relevant, sustainable, compliant, and fit for purpose throughout their lifecycle.
• Lead the development and evolution of SME products, ensuring they remain competitive, customer-focused, and aligned with Tower's strategic objectives.
• Provide specialist commercial SME expertise to shape product decisions, influence strategy, and support strong portfolio performance.
• Champion product governance and compliance, ensuring products meet regulatory requirements and deliver fair customer outcomes throughout their lifecycle.
• Translate complex business, customer, and market insights into practical product enhancements and innovative solutions.
• Partner with stakeholders across the business to deliver product initiatives, manage change, and drive successful implementation outcomes.
• Contribute to the long-term product roadmap, helping identify emerging opportunities, market trends, and future growth areas for Tower's SME portfolio.
