Tower Insurance in Auckland is seeking a Senior Product Owner to lead the digital delivery for tools behind the customer experience, enabling quotes, service, and support. You will translate insights into priorities, manage the product backlog, and guide a squad toward high-value outcomes while collaborating across business units and with partners.

Qualifications

• At least five years’ experience in product ownership, project or programme management, or leading a transformation.
• Strong communicator and relationship builder who influences stakeholders.
• Experience in agile environments and backlog management.
• Experience with digital platforms, portals, contact centres or operational environments; insurance or financial services advantageous.
• Ability to prioritise and deliver features across complex portal environments.

A day in the life of Senior Product Owner

• This is a product role focused on the tools behind the customer experience — making it easier for partners and frontline teams to quote, service and support customers.
• Set the direction for digital delivery by translating partner, customer, and frontline insights into clear priorities, managing the product backlog, and guiding the squad toward the highest-value outcomes.
• Collaborate across the business with digital teams and stakeholders and with our partners to balance competing demands, make informed trade-offs, and ensure solutions deliver real customer and business value.
• Drive continuous improvement by using data, feedback, and performance insights to enhance digital experiences, streamline processes, reduce friction, and create simpler, faster journeys across sales, service, and retention.

In your first 6-12 months, success will look like:

• Establish the new squad and build a high-performing culture, embedding agile ways of working, clear priorities, and strong delivery rhythms that enable the team to consistently achieve outcomes and OKRs.
• Deliver a high-performing product roadmap, successfully launching features and improvements that enhance partner, banker, and frontline experiences while meeting agreed business objectives.
• Establish a well-managed and transparent backlog, balancing new capability, platform health, technical debt, performance enhancements, and operational priorities to maximise value delivery.
• Use data and stakeholder insights to drive decision-making, ensuring customer, partner, and frontline feedback directly informs priorities, improves usability, and delivers measurable business value.
• Become a trusted strategic partner across the business, building strong relationships with key stakeholders and shaping the future direction of the productthrough delivery success and roadmap influence.

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

• At least five years’ experience in product ownership, project or programme management, or leading a transformation workstream.
• Strong communicator and relationship builder who influences stakeholders, manages dependencies, and drives collaboration across all levels of the organisation.
• Experience working in an agile environment and managing a backlog.
• Experience with digital platforms, portals, contact centre or operational environments; experience in insurance or financial services would be advantageous.
• Experience working through ambiguity, change and competing demands, with the ability to find a pragmatic way forward.
• Strong understanding of digital product ownership, with a passion for delivering partner and frontline experiences that improve outcomes for customers and frontline teams.
• Ability to prioritise and deliver new features, enhancements and changes across a complex portal environment, balancing partner and frontline needs, platform health, delivery capacity and business value.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, align priorities, and deliver meaningful business outcomes.
