Job summary

Employer Sponsored Jobs seeks a Product Engineer to lead New Product Introduction (NPI) and drive manufacturing readiness for electronic and mechanical products in New Zealand. You will work with engineering, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing teams to move concepts into full production while improving processes and product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electronics and mechanical manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of NPI and manufacturing readiness processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage the transition of new products from prototype to full production.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, purchasing, and manufacturing teams throughout product development.
• Develop, validate, and improve manufacturing processes for electronic and mechanical products.
• Support manufacturing test systems, fixtures, and production equipment.
• Investigate manufacturing, testing, and product quality issues using structured root cause analysis.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions to improve product reliability and manufacturing performance.
• Analyze production data and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and cost.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements & Eligibility

• Bachelor'sdegreeinIndustrialEngineering,MechanicalEngineering,ElectricalEngineering,SystemsEngineering,orarelatedengineeringdiscipline
• Minimum5yearsofexperiencewithinelectronicsandmechanicalmanufacturingenvironments
• Strongunderstandingofnewproductintroduction(NPI)andmanufacturingreadinessprocesses
• Experiencedeveloping,supporting,ortroubleshootingmanufacturingtestfixturesandproductionequipment
• Knowledgeofelectronicsmanufacturing,assemblyprocesses,qualitysystems,andinventorymanagement
• Abilitytoanalysemanufacturingprocessesandimplementproductivityandqualityimprovements
• ExperiencewithPCBassemblymanufacturingandelectronicproductiontestingishighlydesirable
• Familiaritywithengineeringdocumentationorproductlifecyclemanagementsystemsisadvantageous
• Excellentproblem-solving,analytical,andtroubleshootingskills
• Strongcommunicationskillswiththeabilitytoworkeffectivelyacrosscross-functionalteams
