Make an impact across procurement, inventory and supply planning in a role where good decisions really matter.
The Opportunity
If you enjoy building strong supplier relationships, making smart commercial decisions, and turning data into action, this could be a great next step.
P&F Global is looking for a commercially minded Procurement & Supply Planning Specialist to take real ownership of procurement and supply planning across our business. You’ll build strong working relationships with our local and international suppliers, while becoming a trusted go-to person for the supply decisions that help keep our customers and operations moving.
This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role where you’ll bring together supplier insights, demand and inventory data, systems and input from across the business to help ensure we have the right products, in the right quantities, at the right locations, and at the right time.
You’ll work closely with Sales, Operations, Logistics and Finance, balancing customer requirements with inventory, cost, working capital and supply risk. With suppliers both in New Zealand and overseas, you’ll have the opportunity to develop strong relationships, understand their capabilities and performance, and work with them to achieve better outcomes for P&F.
Based in Auckland or Invercargill – your choice, you’ll help shape purchasing and inventory decisions across our network of P&F-operated sites and third-party logistics locations.
What you’ll be doing
Analyse demand, forecasts, lead times and inventory using NetStock, ERP data and input from across the business to develop effective purchasing and replenishment plans.
Work closely with Sales and other internal stakeholders to understand forecasts, pipeline activity, customer requirements, seasonality and changing priorities, identifying stock-out, back-order, excess and slow-moving inventory risks early and driving practical actions.
Manage day-to-day purchasing with approved suppliers, from purchase orders through to supplier commitments and inbound requirements.
Coordinate stock balancing and transfers across our network of P&F-operated sites and 3PL locations, considering customer demand, stock availability, freight efficiency and operational requirements.
Build effective relationships with local and international suppliers and monitor performance across delivery, lead times, responsiveness, pricing, quality and service.
Coordinate supplier-related product and quality issues through resolution, working closely with the appropriate internal teams.
Support fabricated-product requirements, new-product introductions and supplier changes, while keeping abreast of relevant product, supplier and market developments and supply risks.
Use NetStock, ERP data and reporting to improve forecast and replenishment accuracy and support better supply decisions.
Look for smarter, simpler ways to work through improved systems, processes, automation and appropriate use of digital and AI tools.
What we’re looking for
You’ll be someone who enjoys working with both data and people. You'll be comfortable getting into the detail in NetStock and other systems, but equally comfortable asking questions, following up suppliers, challenging assumptions and collaborating across teams to reach the right outcome.
A genuine interest in becoming highly familiar with our product range, both technically and physically, so you can make well-informed procurement and supply decisions.
As some of our key suppliers are based overseas, you'll also need to be comfortable with occasional evening work to connect across different time zones.
Strong analytical skills and confidence working with forecasts, inventory data, spreadsheets and operational reporting.
Good commercial judgement and an understanding of the balance between product availability, cost, cash and supply risk.
Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across different functions and with suppliers.
Excellent planning, organisation and problem-solving ability.
High attention to detail and a reputation for following things through.
Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills.
Experience using supply planning and ERP systems, together with Microsoft Office. Experience with NetStock would be advantageous.
Experience with imported products, international suppliers or long‑lead‑time supply chains would be particularly valuable.
NetSuite experience, supplier performance management, quality resolution, process improvement or a relevant supply‑chain qualification would also be advantageous.
