Job summary

Fonterra Auckland seeks a strategic and operationally focused General Manager Supply Planning to join our Global Supply Chain Leadership Team. This role oversees end-to-end supply planning across Ingredients, Foodservice and Consumer portfolios, reporting to the Director Global Supply Chain.

Key focus areas include strengthening plan attainment, reliability, and alignment between Manufacturing, Portfolio and Supply teams, while leading a large, high-performing team with a continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • 15+ years in supply chain, operations or manufacturing leadership.
  • Extensive end-to-end supply planning experience.
  • Strong capability in S&OP/IBP, production scheduling and balancing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end supply planning across multiple portfolios.
  • Develop integrated supply plans optimizing service, cost, inventory and efficiency.
  • Drive plan attainment, reliability, and schedule adherence.
  • Oversee national production scheduling and materials planning.
  • Lead optimisation modelling and data-driven decision making.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Commercial.
  • Champion continuous improvement and digital enablement.
  • Lead and develop a large, high-performing team.

About the Opportunity |Mō tēnei tūranga

We're looking for a strategic and operationally focused General Manager Supply Planning to join our Global Supply Chain Leadership Team.

Reporting to the Director Global Supply Chain, this role is accountable for leading Fonterra's end-to-end supply planning capability across Ingredients, Foodservice and Consumer portfolios.

A key focus will be strengthening plan attainment and reliability while driving alignment between Manufacturing, Portfolio and Supply teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead Fonterra’s end-to-end supply planning function across multiple portfolios.
  • Develop integrated supply plans that optimise service, cost, inventory and production efficiency.
  • Drive plan attainment, delivery reliability, and schedule adherence.
  • Oversee national production scheduling and materials planning.
  • Lead optimisation modelling and data-driven decision making.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Commercial teams.
  • Champion continuous improvement, simplification and digital enablement.
  • Lead and develop a large, high-performing team.

You're an experienced supply chain leader who thrives in complex operational environments and has a proven ability to translate strategy into operational outcomes. You will have an active, hands‑on leadership presence with a continuous improvement mindset to simplify processes, enhance decision quality and improve planning outcomes at scale.

You will bring

  • 15 plus years in supply chain, operations or manufacturing leadership roles.
  • Significant experience leading end-to-end supply planning.
  • Strong capability in S&OP/IBP, production scheduling and supply-demand balancing.
  • Experience with optimisation modelling and advanced planning systems.
  • Proven success improving operational performance and planning outcomes.
  • Experience leading large, geographically dispersed teams.
  • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations Management or related discipline.
  • MBA, APICS, IBF or similar qualifications advantageous.
