Job summary

Watercare Services Limited is seeking a Procurement Specialist in Auckland to partner with stakeholders and suppliers to deliver effective, commercially sound procurement outcomes. You’ll manage end-to-end procurement activities, develop sourcing strategies, and support evaluation and negotiations across Watercare’s projects.

You will join a collaborative, principal-led team and contribute to cost savings, value for money and governance for a large metropolitan water program.

Qualifications

• Around five years’ experience in procurement, supply chain or related commercial environment.
• Experience with competitive procurement processes, including RFQs, RFPs or other market engagement approaches.
• Strong communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
• Good negotiation skills and an understanding of contracts and commercial terms.
• Ability to manage multiple procurement activities at different stages.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement activities, including market engagement and planning and execution of RFx processes.
• Develop fit-for-purpose sourcing strategies considering market capability, commercial opportunities, risk and stakeholder requirements.
• Support category planning and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and value for money.
• Develop procurement documentation such as requirements, evaluation criteria, pricing schedules, RFx documentation and papers.
• Coordinate and support evaluation processes, including commercial analysis, moderation and supplier due diligence.
• Lead and support supplier negotiations, and contribute to contract drafting, award and implementation.
• Build effective supplier relationships and engage with the market.
• Partner with stakeholders to understand needs and provide practical procurement advice.
