Job summary

Junior Junction Hamilton is seeking a passionate kaiako to join our preschool team, working with children aged 3 to school age. This full-time role offers a flexible start date as we welcome someone stepping into the shoes of a colleague moving to Australia.

We value warmth, creativity, and enthusiasm, and welcome applications from both qualified and non-qualified kaiako. Our team emphasizes strong relationships, teamwork, and fostering a joyful, child-centered learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with preschool-aged learners
• Knowledge of Te Whāriki and bicultural learning approaches
• Ability to use assessment processes to support meaningful learning
• Willingness to start with flexible timing and complete ECE studies if needed

Junior Junction Hamilton is looking for a passionate, caring, and enthusiastic kaiako to join our preschool team, working with children aged 3 to school age.

This is a full-time position with a flexible start date. You will be stepping into the shoes of a much-loved kaiako who is embarking on an exciting move to Australia. We are eager to find someone who will bring their own warmth, creativity, and enthusiasm to our learning community.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has ECE experience/genuine passion for and thorough understanding of preschool-aged learners.


• Is self-reflective and eager to drive their own professional learning.


• Recognises themselves as an important resource in the care and education of our children.


• Has a genuine passion for exploring bicultural learning and incorporating Te Whāriki into their practice.


• Understands assessment processes and can use these to support meaningful learning.


• Draws inspiration from children’s interests, strengths, and emerging skills to design engaging learning opportunities.


• Brings a fun, positive, and child-focused attitude to each day.


• Values relationships, teamwork, and creating an environment where children feel confident, capable, and connected.


• Is resourceful and able to make the most of what is available, bringing a sense of joy and wonder to their teaching interactions.

We welcome applications from both qualified and non-qualified kaiako. Additionally, our flexible start date may suit those completing their ECE studies at the end of the year and looking to enter the profession.
