Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade is required.
• Minimum 2 years' post-apprenticeship metal fabrication and welding experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and use manual/machine tools.
• Strong welding skills and knowledge of Australian welding standards.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specs to determine material needs and weld symbols.
• Plan cutting layouts to minimise waste and liaise with project managers.
• Operate CNC plasma cutters and cutting tools to shape steel to dimensions.
• Shape and bend metal using presses and manual methods as required.
• Align components and join via FCAW/MIG or stick welding and bolting.
• Inspect welds and finish surfaces, maintaining quality and coatings.
