Job summary

The University of Auckland is seeking a Practice Nurse to join our general practice nursing team across our Grafton and City Campuses. This role supports our student health services and works in a multidisciplinary environment with a focus on sexual and mental health and wellness.

The successful applicant will be a Registered Nurse with a current Practising Certificate, hold or be willing to train as an Independent Vaccinator, and bring experience with young adults and diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse in New Zealand with a current Practising Certificate.
• Independent Vaccinator Authorisation Certificate or willingness to train.
• CPR and/or Advanced Life Support certification.
• Experience with young adults and diverse communities.
• Interest in sexual health, mental health, and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Join a nursing team of eight led by a Nurse Lead to support student health services.
• Provide general practice nursing within a multidisciplinary health setting.
• Contribute to sexual health and mental health services for students.
• Engage in health screening and health promotion activities.

We are seeking a Practice Nurse to join our general practice nursing team working across our Grafton and City Campuses. Our clinics specifically support our students and are not open to the general public.

Ideally, we are looking for a nurse withexperience working in a multidisciplinary health setting with proven clinical experience with young adults and diverse communities. This would be a great role for someone with an interest in sexual health, mental health, and a supportive wellness approach.

The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, on a permanent basis.

Rostered hours are:Monday 08:00-18.00, Tuesday- Thursday 0800-17.00 and Friday 08.00-14.20.

We offer a competitive salary, which is bolstered by our Kiwi Saver/Unisaver contributions, which can match up to 6.75% of your salary. On top of this, we also have25 daysof annual leave a year, with aChristmas shutdownto ensure we all get a good summer break.

The salary range for this role is $73,400 - $90,700 prorated per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

You will join a nursing team of eight managed by a Nurse Lead and supported by an effective administrative team. We offer a close-knit team environment, and the wider nursing team allows for a positive social feeling and helps us all to get the best outcomes for our patients. To succeed in this role, you will be a registered nurse interested in sexual health, mental health, and ideally experienced within a general practice. You will be motivated to provide quality service and enjoy working collaboratively with the wider team to achieve this. It is important that you have an Independent Authorised Vaccinator Certificateor be willing to take the training course to be qualified.

• You will have a current validated CPR and/or Advanced Life Support Certification
• Are able to show proven clinical experience with young adults and diverse communities
• Someone who can demonstrate experience with health screening and healthy lifestyle interventions
• You will need to consider yourself to have a high level of cultural competence
