Wage Rate: $30.00 – $36.00 per hour (depending on experience and skills)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Agricultural and Horticultural Mobile Plant Operator to join our glasshouse operations team in Auckland. This role involves the safe and skilled operation of glasshouse and horticultural mobile plant equipment to support crop production activities, requiring a higher level of technical competency and autonomy than standard plant operator roles.

Key Duties

• Operate glasshouse mobile plant and machinery (e.g. trolleys, transport carts, forklifts, tractors, and other glasshouse-specific equipment) to move, transport, and position crops, materials, and supplies
• Calibrate and adjust equipment settings for varying crop and operational requirements
• Carry out land/site preparation, cultivation, and crop-handling tasks as required
• Conduct routine pre-start checks, servicing, and minor repairs on machinery
• Monitor machinery performance and report faults promptly
• Maintain accurate records of machinery use and production activities
• Work independently and exercise sound judgement in day-to-day plant operation, with minimal supervision
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and environmental standards
• Relevant experience operating mobile plant or heavy machinery (prior driving/machinery operation experience considered)
• A valid full driver's licence (Class 1 minimum; additional endorsements an advantage)
• Sound mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic equipment maintenance
• Ability to work outdoors/in a glasshouse environment across varying conditions
• Strong understanding of health and safety practices around machinery operation
• Ability to work autonomously and reliably meet production demands
