Job summary

Te Korowai Hauora o Hauraki is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to provide trusted financial leadership across the organisation. Based in Thames, you will lead budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cashflow management and annual plans.

You will work with senior leaders, support decision-making, strengthen controls and guide the finance team to deliver high-quality services for whānau and communities.

Qualifications

• Qualified accounting or finance professional with CA/CPA or equivalent membership preferred.
• 5+ years of proven financial management and control experience in health, community, or not-for-profit settings.
• Commitment to kaupapa Māori values, whānau wellbeing and working respectfully across diverse communities.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and annual financial processes.
• Practical knowledge of financial systems, internal controls and audits.

• Coordinate organisation-wide budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Provide financial advice to managers to strengthen decision-making and contract performance.

• Maintain strong financial controls, policies, procedures and systems.
• Support year-end processes, external audit requirements and risk management.

Te Korowai Hauora o Hauraki is seeking an experienced and values-led Finance Manager to provide trusted financial leadership, stewardship and advice across the organisation. This is a key leadership role that will support sound decision-making, strengthen financial management, and help enable the ongoing delivery of quality health and wellbeing services for whānau and communities across Hauraki.

Working closely with senior leaders, managers and the finance team, you will lead organisation-wide financial planning, budgeting, reporting and performance monitoring. You will provide practical, timely and well-informed advice that supports accountability, sustainability and continuous improvement across our services.

As Te Korowai Hauora o Hauraki continues to grow and strengthen its services, this role will be central to ensuring our financial resources are managed responsibly and aligned to the needs of the communities we serve.

About the role – Mō te mahi

As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for leading core finance functions including financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cashflow management, audit support, contract financial oversight, and the ongoing improvement of finance systems, policies and processes.

What you'll do - Ko tōu ake mahi

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, including clear analysis and commentary for senior leadership and governance reporting.
• Coordinate organisation-wide budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Provide financial advice and support to managers to strengthen decision-making, accountability and contract performance.
• Oversee creditors, debtors, cashflow, banking, payroll support and general financial operations.
• Maintain strong financial controls, policies, procedures and systems that are current, effective and fit for purpose.
• Support year-end processes, external audit requirements, internal review activity and ongoing risk management.
• Lead, support and develop finance team members, promoting a culture of accuracy, service, continuous improvement and accountability.

About you – Mō koe

You will be a capable and trusted finance professional who can work both strategically and operationally. You will bring strong technical financial skills, sound judgement, clear communication, and the ability to build effective relationships across teams, services, funders and external advisors.

What you'll bring - Ko ngā pūkenga ōu

• A relevant accounting or finance qualification, with CA/CPA or equivalent professional membership preferred.
• Proven financial management and control experience (of at least 5+ years), ideally within a health, community, Māori, not-for-profit or complex service delivery environment.
• A commitment to kaupapa Māori values, whānau wellbeing, service excellence and working respectfully across diverse communities.
• Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and annual financial processes.
• Practical knowledge of financial systems, internal controls, audit requirements and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to provide clear advice to non-finance stakeholders.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office capability, with practical ERP experience (SAP exposure would be advantageous)
• Sharp attention to detail, a drive to improve accuracy and efficiency, and full, unrestricted working rights for New Zealand
