Job summary

Lyttelton Port Company, based in Lyttelton on New Zealand's South Island, is seeking a Port Engineer to keep our critical infrastructure safe, reliable and future-ready. You will provide structural and Civil engineering expertise across port assets, supporting asset management, maintenance and project delivery.

Qualifications

  • A Civil Engineering degree and at least five years' relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience in structural engineering and a strong understanding of structural load paths.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and project coordination skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities, solve problems and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • A commitment to health and safety, continuous improvement and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect wharves and support maintenance programmes.
  • Deliver engineering projects and contribute to long-term asset planning.
  • Provide structural and civil engineering expertise across port assets.
  • Collaborate with operational teams, contractors and consultants to deliver practical engineering solutions.
