Job summary

Lyttelton Port Company, based in Lyttelton on New Zealand's South Island, is seeking a Port Engineer to keep our critical infrastructure safe, reliable and future-ready. You will provide structural and Civil engineering expertise across port assets, supporting asset management, maintenance and project delivery.

About the Role

As our Port Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring Lyttelton Port Company's critical infrastructure remains safe, reliable and fit for the future. Providing structural and civil engineering expertise across our port assets, you'll support asset management, maintenance and project delivery while working closely with operational teams, contractors and consultants to deliver practical engineering solutions. From inspecting wharves and supporting maintenance programmes to delivering engineering projects and contributing to long-term asset planning, you'll help ensure our infrastructure continues to support the safe and efficient operation of the port.

What sets you apart

You're a qualified Civil Engineer with strong structural engineering knowledge and a practical, solutions-focused approach. You enjoy working across a diverse range of engineering challenges, building positive relationships with stakeholders, and balancing technical expertise with the needs of a busy operational environment. Comfortable both in the office and out on site, you're organised, adaptable and committed to delivering safe, high-quality outcomes.

This role sits within a broader internal salary band reflecting relativities across the organisation for the same or similar sized roles and performance. New appointments will be made in the range of$107,773 to $120,453inclusiveof KiwiSaverand will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role
