Job summary

ACC New Zealand in Wellington is seeking a Policy Advisor to work across teams to deliver the policy programme and shape the future of the Accident Compensation Scheme. You will collaborate with stakeholders and develop policy that informs government priorities, with a focus on thoughtful, robust advice.

You will be early in your policy career but with strong potential to tackle complex issues, communicate clearly, and build credible relationships.

Qualifications

• Policy advice background or relevant experience in thinking through difficult problems, including considering trade-offs and risks.
• Ability to turn analysis into advice and think creatively.
• Sound judgement.
• Ability to write, influence, and think creatively with an understanding of Government operations.
• Natural ability to form strong, credible relationships with stakeholders across an organisation.
• NZ work rights at the time of application.

Responsibilities

• Help shape the future of the Accident Compensation Scheme and ACC’s role as part of the wider health and welfare system.
• Contribute towards addressing complex policy problems with an intersectional focus between government and service delivery.
