Job summary

NZ Pipe Ltd in Auckland is seeking a reliable Retail & Warehouse Assistant to join our busy family-owned plumbing supply store. This full-time role covers shop floor sales, till operations, and warehouse duties in Ōtāhuhu and our new Takanini location.

You will help customers, process payments, keep shelves stocked, pack orders, and support stock control. A full driver’s licence is required for local deliveries; forklift licence is a bonus.

Responsibilities

Retail & Warehouse Assistant – Full Time NZ Pipe | Ōtāhuhu & Takanini, Auckland

NZ Pipe is a busy, family-owned and operated plumbing supplies retail store with an active warehouse operation. We supply everyday plumbers, plumbing business owners, and DIYers with the products and advice they need to get the job done right. With our Ōtāhuhu store going strong and a new Takanini location now open, we're looking for honest, hard-working people to join our team full-time.

If you like a fast-paced environment, take pride in good customer service, and don't mind rolling your sleeves up in the warehouse as well as on the shop floor, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

• Serving customers and processing sales at the till

• Handling money and processing payments accurately

• Offering plumbing product advice to the best of your ability (training provided – if you don't know it yet, we'll help you learn)

• Keeping shelves stocked and the store looking tidy and presentable

• Keeping an eye on stock levels and flagging anything that needs reordering

• Picking and packing orders for courier, freight forwarding, and customer pick-up

• Managing incoming and outgoing stock

• Keeping the warehouse organised and easy to work in

• Local deliveries (a full driver's licence is required)

• Pitching in wherever needed to help the owners improve the flow, productivity, and quality of the store day to day

What We're Looking For

• Honest, reliable, and hard-working

• Strong customer service skills – friendly, patient, and helpful under pressure

• Comfortable with physical work (lifting, moving stock, being on your feet)

• A team player who's happy to help out wherever needed

• A full, clean driver's licence (for local deliveries)

• Plumbing industry knowledge or experience is a bonus but not essential – we'll teach you the products

• Previous retail, trade counter, or warehouse experience is an advantage

• Forklift license is a bonus!

Hours

This is a full-time role. Our store trading hours are:

• Monday–Friday: 8:00am – 4:30pm (Busiest days)

• Saturday: 8:00am – 3:00pm

• Sunday: 9:00am – 2:00pm

Rosters will be discussed at interview, including weekend rotation.
