Job summary

IAG is seeking an experienced technology leader to drive delivery and sustainment of critical platforms across Auckland, Wellington, or Christchurch. You will lead teams through change, partnering with vendors and stakeholders to balance value, stability and risk while championing automation and AI-enabled improvements.

The role emphasizes strong people leadership, capability development and collaboration across complex environments, with a focus on delivering secure, scalable platform services.

Qualifications

• Experience leading technology teams through transformation or complex delivery.
• Strong people leadership with focus on development and capability.
• Ability to balance business priorities with operational needs.
• Proven vendor, partner and stakeholder management in complex environments.
• Curiosity for innovation, automation and practical AI applications.
• Background in software delivery, platform operations or technology support.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams responsible for critical platforms, ensuring reliable service delivery during transformation.
• Define and deliver platform sustainment strategies balancing value, stability and risk.
• Drive continuous improvement for performance, resilience and long-term sustainability.
• Partner with vendors, tech teams and stakeholders to manage services and delivery outcomes.
• Champion automation and emerging technologies, including AI opportunities.
• Guide governance and prioritisation for platform health investments.
