Job summary

Red Stag Timber in Rotorua is seeking a hands-on supervisor to oversee the safe daily running of two timber treatment plants. You will report to the Treatment Manager and lead four shift Team Leaders with a crew of five per shift, in a Monday–Friday day role with flexible start/finish times.

No timber treatment experience is required; full training will be provided. The role emphasizes supervisory experience, mechanical know-how, and the ability to coordinate four shifts and management.

Qualifications

• Three years' experience supervising teams in a manufacturing, processing or industrial setting.
• Demonstrated mechanical ability with hands-on experience
• Confidence using Excel and Word for rosters, reports, and records
• Strong communication skills and initiative, as you'll be keeping four shift crews and management on the same page

Responsibilities

• Lead safety across both plants, including training, toolbox talks and incident investigations
• Supervise daily operations, making sure staffing levels and rosters are covered across all four shifts
• Monitor the treatment process, troubleshoot problems and minimise downtime to keep both plants running to schedule
• Build the skills and performance of your Team Leaders and their crews through coaching and training
• Work with the scheduling team to ensure production requirements are met

New Zealand’s largest sawmill, Red Stag Timber, is located in Rotorua and we're looking for a hands-on supervisor to oversee the safe daily running of two timber treatment plants.

You’ll report to our Treatment Manager and lead four shift Team Leaders with a crew of five per shift. This is a Monday–Friday day role, requiring flexibility around start and finish times to maintain regular contact with all four shifts

No timber treatment experience? That's fine, as we provide full training. What matters most is proven supervisory experience and solid mechanical know-how.

What you'll do
