Job summary

Red Stag Timber in Rotorua invites applications for a qualified or trainee Sawdoctor to join our dayshift team.

Hours are Monday to Thursday, 6.00am–6.00pm, with overtime at time and a half for hours over 40 weekly. Ideal candidates will have Sawdoctor L3/L4 or be studying toward this, plus 2–3 years in a sawshop and a strong commitment to safety.

A pre-employment drug test and reference checks from two prior line managers and a pre-employment medical may apply.

Qualifications

• Sawdoctor L3/L4 qualification or be prepared to study towards this.
• 2-3 years experience in a sawshop.
• Reliability and strong commitment to workplace safety.
• High level of physical fitness and strength.
• Energetic with a 'can-do' attitude.
• Pre-employment mechanical & mathematical aptitude test may be required.
• Pre-employment drug test and reference checks from two prior line managers.

Red Stag Timber operates a modern state-of-the-art Sawmill in Rotorua to support the New Zealand building industry. With leading edge technology, the Company operates the country's largest sawmill, and is a well-established and successful business.

We have an opportunity for a qualified or trainee Sawdoctor to join our dayshift team.

Hours of work for this position are Dayshift Monday - Thursday, 6.00am - 6.00pm with an overtime rate of time and half for all hours worked over 40 hours per week.

Ideal applicants will have:

• Sawdoctor L3 or L4 qualification or be prepared to study towards this
• 2-3 years experience in a sawshop
• A history of reliability, along with a strong commitment to workplace safety
• A high level of physical fitness and strength due to the nature of the work tasks
• Be energetic with a 'can-do' attitude - strive for perfection!

A short mechanical & mathematical aptitude test may be required as part of the recruitment process.
