Qualifications

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Plant and Terminal Operator to join our team in Napier, New Zealand. As a key member of our port operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe handling of fuel and petroleum products at our facility.

• Operate and monitor plant equipment and terminal systems for efficient fuel handling
• Conduct bunker operations for vessels docked at the port
• Assist with tanker operations, including discharging fuel into terminal tanks
• Perform regular equipment inspections and basic maintenance tasks
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and operating procedures
• Maintain accurate records of all operations and transactions
• Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and meet operational goals
• Respond promptly to any emergencies or equipment malfunctions
• Participate in ongoing training and safety drills to maintain operational readiness
• Assist with additional terminal duties as required
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in plant operations, terminal operations, or related field preferred
• Full Class A New Zealand driver's license
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong commitment to safety and adherence to operational procedures
• Physical fitness to perform manual handling tasks and work in various weather conditions
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping and digital communication
• Demonstrated reliability and team-oriented attitude
• Willingness to undergo and pass a drug screening process
• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
• Quick learner with a proactive approach to problem-solving
