Job summary

Bargain Chemist in Dunedin seeks a committed Pharmacy Technician to support our community-focused dispensary team. You will assist with labeling and dispensing medicines, provide healthcare advice, and help customers with prescriptions and inquiries.

Experience with TONIQ Dispensary software is preferred, and a First Aid certificate is desirable. This full-time or part-time role offers growth within a Kiwi-owned company with a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Must have Pharmacy Technician qualification - level 4 or above.
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience in Pharmacy preferred - OTC knowledge is essential.
• A First Aid qualification is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in TONIQ Dispensary software is an advantage.
• Able to work late nights/weekends and public holidays.
• Able to multitask with a clear head and a positive attitude.
• Strong interpersonal, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Have Blister pack experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the dispensary with labeling and dispensing medicines up to final accuracy and clinical check stage.
• Provide healthcare advice, product recommendations, and counselling to customers.
• Assist customers with prescriptions and general inquiries.
• Dispensary stock management and replenishment.
• Update customer files and perform other administrative tasks.
• Create blister packs.

What You’ll Bring to Life in this Role

• Assisting the team in the dispensary with the labelling and dispensing of medicines all the way to the final accuracy and clinical check stage.
• Providing healthcare advice, product recommendations, and counselling customers.
• Assist customers with their prescriptions and general enquiries.
• Dispensary stock management and replenishment.
• Updating customer files and other administrative tasks.
• Blister pack creation.
