Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Analytical Chemist for a pharmaceutical client in Queenstown. You will lead analytical activities, developing and validating advanced methods to assure the quality, safety and efficacy of medicines.

You will utilize HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR, MS and contribute to regulatory submissions, ensuring GMP compliance. The role emphasizes scientific rigor and mentoring junior chemists in a state-of-the-art laboratory.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on pharmaceutical analytical chemistry experience.
• Strong expertise in method development and validation for small molecule drugs.
• Proficiency with analytical instruments including HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR and MS.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and transfer analytical methods for raw materials, intermediates, and finished pharmaceutical products.
• Perform routine and non-routine analysis using HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR, and Mass Spectrometry.
• Troubleshoot analytical instrumentation and method-related issues.
• Interpret analytical data, document results accurately, and prepare comprehensive reports.
• Ensure GMP and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor junior analytical chemists and contribute to continuous improvement.
