Personal Banking is one of ASB’s largest and most customer-connected areas, bringing together teams that support customers through everyday banking, home ownership, specialist advice and important financial decisions. Advice Centres provide face-to-face banking support in communities across New Zealand, while Private Banking delivers highly personalised support through dedicated relationship teams. Premium Banking gives eligible customers priority access to experienced specialists across areas such as lending, KiwiSaver, investments and insurance.
The General Manager’s portfolio spans Advice Centres, Private Banking and Premium Banking, connecting a significant frontline network with specialist services for customers whose needs range from everyday banking through to complex financial goals. It is a broad, fast-moving environment where customer outcomes, sound risk management and strong leadership all matter.
About the Role
As Personal Assistant to the General Manager, you will provide proactive administrative, coordination and communication support that enables the General Manager and wider leadership team to operate effectively.
You will manage priorities, schedules and commitments, coordinate meetings and team activities, prepare high-quality information and maintain strong connections across a wide stakeholder network. Just as importantly, you will anticipate needs, identify issues early and apply sound judgement about what requires attention.
The role exists to create an organised and well-connected working environment, allowing the General Manager to focus their time where it will have the greatest impact.
Key Responsibilities
About You
You are an experienced Personal Assistant, Executive Assistant or senior administrator who understands that great support is about much more than managing a calendar.
You stay calm when priorities shift, think ahead and take ownership without needing to be directed at every step. You are comfortable working with senior leaders, can quickly understand what is important and know when to act, when to ask and when to protect your leader’s time.
